Letter to my younger self...

Dear Younger Elena (18 Years)

You are now nearly 24 can you believe it? I can’t. Sometimes I need to think again of the age exactly as it just feels unreal.

How life has changed. Things turned out different than what you planned and dreamed of.

You finally got to go overseas. Your first family isn’t what you think it to be what I learn there is don’t rush the process just let it take its course and choose wisely. Extend and travel more!!! Be more open and leave with no regrets and make sure to have contact all the time.

Family, they come and go in your life but hold on to the ones that stay around. Enjoy the time given with them and make it count. Not all will make you happy and some will even push you out their lives or be rude but know they are family and let it go and carry on with your life.

Friends, they too come and go. Make the friendships last as for some reason they move on and its done. Fight as long as you can for the friendship but make sure you’re not the only one. You meet new friends and you learn more what friendship is truly about hold on to that.

Stand up for yourself more. You will get stages in your life where people see how soft you are and will walk all over you and use you. Learn to say no where needed but say it nicely.

Don’t wish to move out of parent’s house. It happens and you will enjoy where you are now but you will miss the easy times. Growing up is not as fun as the cartoons show it to be.

LOVE, don’t look so hard with finding the one you want to be with. It happens really when you least expect it. You will love and you will fight for it. You will cry nights till you fall asleep and wake up with swollen eyes, you will travel and you will smile all that will bring you to the happiness you have at this stage. Live it to the fullest and love to the complete fullest so that you know you gave it your all. Jump slower and let it flow God will take you where you need to be with whom he has planned to be in your life.

Stress is real, work is hard. You will be faced with more challenges than what you ever thought you as a person alone can handle, remember though that you are never alone. God is always there and Praying through it all gets you where you need to be. You will work hard to try prove yourself and sometimes it might not ever get noticed and might be misused but don’t let that stop you. You will feel discouraged and at the point of just wanting it all gone but you are stronger than what you think and you can do this. Remember the family!!

Worrying brings you no were. Over thinking just keeps your mind full of unnecessary things that you could be focusing your time on.  Although you keep telling yourself not to lets be real we can’t stop it. But know it’s not needed.

Stop hating yourself and wanting to change. You will find that one person who will love you for you, yes all of you. The need to be someone who everyone else wants you to be for you to be happy should disappear. As you grow up you will realize life is more than that. You will lose weight and feel good try stick to it but also you will gain. But take it as it comes and enjoy it. Life is short to be stuck on a diet for ever

Studies, yeah I know just finishing school and again? Yeah they never stop. Try stay focused, don’t leave things to the last minute and know that you don’t first have to check Facebook or YouTube to complete an assignment get it done.

Through whatever you face remember this, you are happy. Its hard and at times your like shouting that you had enough and you cant but fight. You will get to a stage where you wake up and go to bed happy. Life is worth that fight.

And smile it works…..
